PM Directs Early Completion of Daanish Schools Across Pakistan

PM Shehbaz Sharif has directed authorities to accelerate the completion of under-construction Daanish Schools, reaffirming the government’s commitment to providing quality education to talented students from low-income families across Pakistan. The instructions came during the first meeting of the Daanish Schools Authority Board, where several important decisions were approved to strengthen the country’s flagship education initiative.

During the meeting, the prime minister gave in-principle approval to the Daanish Schools Authority Rules, Managing Director Rules, and other administrative regulations. He also approved the transfer of land allocated for Daanish Schools to the Daanish Schools Authority, aiming to improve governance and ensure smoother execution of future projects.

Emphasizing efficient use of public resources, PM Shehbaz instructed officials to maintain a lean administrative structure while ensuring that funds are directed toward improving educational facilities and student welfare instead of unnecessary operational expenses.

The prime minister said that equal access to education remains one of the government’s top priorities. He noted that the Daanish Schools model has successfully provided merit-based admissions, free education, accommodation, and modern learning facilities to deserving students from underprivileged backgrounds.

Officials informed the meeting that 29 Daanish Schools have been proposed nationwide. So far, 15 projects have received approval, while construction is actively underway on 13 campuses in different regions. PM Shehbaz directed the relevant departments to ensure that all ongoing projects are completed within the approved timelines so students can benefit without delays.

To improve the quality of education, the prime minister also instructed authorities to introduce project-based learning, critical thinking, and personality development programs into the curriculum. These additions are expected to equip students with practical skills alongside academic excellence, preparing them for higher education and future careers.

Another major decision taken during the meeting was the approval to establish an international-standard teachers’ training institute dedicated to Daanish Schools. The institute will focus on enhancing teachers’ professional skills, modern teaching methods, classroom management, and the effective use of educational technology.

The government believes that expanding the Daanish Schools network will help reduce educational inequalities and create better opportunities for talented students who cannot afford quality private education. Officials said the initiative reflects Pakistan’s long-term vision of investing in human capital, improving literacy, and producing skilled graduates capable of contributing to the country’s economic and social development.
