Punjab University has reopened its undergraduate admissions for the 2026-27 academic year, giving students another opportunity to apply for programs where seats are still available.
The second admission phase is specifically for vacant seats in selected undergraduate programs. According to the university’s official admission notice, applications opened through the online portal and will remain available until September 28, 2026, at 11:59 PM.
This phase is open to both fresh applicants and students who applied earlier but could not secure admission. Candidates who did not appear in an admission test may also apply, provided they meet the eligibility requirements of their selected program.
Punjab University has made it clear that only online applications will be accepted. The university is also following a first-come, first-served system for the vacant seats. Where seats are limited, the time at which an applicant generates the fee challan will be used to determine the order.

The available programs cover several academic areas, including Agricultural Sciences, Arts and Humanities, Behavioural and Social Sciences, Business, Commerce, Geo-Sciences, Law and other disciplines. Vacant seats are available in both first-semester and fifth-semester programs, depending on the department.
Students can find programs offered in different categories, including Morning, Evening, Afternoon, Replica and Self-Supporting. The university has also listed programs at its Gujranwala, Jhelum and Pothohar campuses.
For students interested in the College of Art and Design, an additional requirement applies. Candidates seeking admission to relevant first-semester programs must pass a separate Drawing or Aptitude Test with at least 50% marks.
Applicants should carefully check the eligibility criteria before selecting a program. They should then complete the online application and generate the required fee challan as early as possible, particularly where seats are limited.
Students should also note that hostel accommodation is not guaranteed. Punjab University says accommodation is limited, while students enrolled in Self-Supporting, Afternoon, Replica and Evening programs are not eligible for hostel accommodation.
For admission-related assistance, the university has provided its Admission Office Helpline at +92-(0)42-111-001-882, with extensions 162, 176 and 177. An admission assistant chatbot is also available through the university website.
Students interested in the vacant-seat admission phase should avoid waiting until the final hours. Since the university is using a first-come, first-served process for limited seats, early submission and timely challan generation could be important.
