The Punjab Education, Curriculum, Training and Assessment Authority (PECTAA) has issued important instructions regarding the registration of Grade 5 students for the upcoming annual assessment across Punjab. The authority has directed all schools to complete the registration process within the prescribed schedule to ensure students can participate without any issues.
According to the latest guidelines, registrations will be carried out through the Item Bank System (IBS). School administrations have been instructed to use their official login credentials and verify all student records before submission. Education officials have emphasized that accurate data entry is essential to avoid complications during the assessment process.
The authority has asked schools to pay special attention to students’ dates of birth, ensuring they match official records and enrollment data. Any discrepancy found in the submitted information may create problems during verification and examination arrangements. School heads will be responsible for the accuracy of the information provided.

Schools have also been directed to upload recent passport-size photographs with a white background and complete all mandatory student details. These include the student’s name, father’s name, B-Form number, contact information, school details, subject selections, and examination center preferences.
Education experts believe the annual assessment plays an important role in measuring students’ learning outcomes and improving academic standards in public schools. The data collected through the assessment also helps authorities evaluate educational performance across districts and identify areas requiring additional support.
District Education Authorities have been instructed to closely monitor the registration process and provide guidance to schools wherever needed. Officials have been asked to ensure that no eligible student is left unregistered due to administrative delays or incomplete documentation.
