Sindh Government Announces New College Timings for Students

The Sindh College Education Department has officially restored the six-day working week for all public and private colleges across the province. The revised schedule will come into effect from August 1, 2026, and will remain applicable until the department issues fresh instructions.

According to an official notification, colleges will now operate from Monday to Saturday, replacing the previous working schedule. The department also withdrew its earlier notification issued in March 2026, making the latest order the new policy for all institutions under its administrative control.

The notification introduces updated timings for both morning and evening shifts. Morning shift colleges will conduct classes from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday. On Friday, classes will conclude earlier, operating from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

For evening shift colleges, classes will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday through Thursday and Saturday. On Fridays, evening classes will run from 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The order has been signed by Secretary College Education Sindh, Nadeem-ur-Rehman Memon, who directed the Director General Colleges Sindh, regional directors, principals, and other concerned officials to ensure immediate implementation of the revised schedule across all government and private colleges.

The Education Department said the updated timetable is aimed at ensuring better academic management, improving classroom discipline, and maintaining a uniform schedule for colleges throughout the province. Students, teachers, and parents have been advised to follow the revised timings from the effective date.

Officials have also clarified that the new schedule will remain in force until further orders, and any future changes will be communicated through an official notification issued by the Sindh College Education Department.
