The School Education Department has launched a major recruitment initiative for key administrative positions in government schools, inviting eligible teachers to apply for Principal, Senior Headmaster, and Headmaster posts through a transparent and merit-based selection process.
Officials said the move is aimed at strengthening school leadership by appointing qualified and experienced educators to administrative roles. The recruitment drive covers government high schools and higher secondary schools, where effective leadership is considered essential for improving educational standards and student performance.
According to the department, applications will be accepted exclusively through the Human Resource Management System (HRMS) portal. Teachers interested in applying must complete the online application process and meet all eligibility requirements specified by the department.

Candidates applying for Headmaster (BS-17), Senior Headmaster (BS-18), and Principal (BS-19 and BS-20) positions must possess the required academic qualifications and at least five years of teaching or administrative experience. Authorities believe that experienced educators are better equipped to manage academic institutions and implement education reforms effectively.
The selection process will consist of a written examination followed by an interview. The written test will evaluate candidates on several important areas, including:
- Basic Information Technology (IT) skills
- Knowledge of government policies and regulations
- Educational leadership and management abilities
- Teaching and professional competencies
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills
Only candidates who successfully clear the written examination will be shortlisted for the interview stage. Education officials emphasized that the recruitment process has been designed to ensure fairness, transparency, and equal opportunities for all eligible applicants.
The department has also clarified that applications submitted through postal services or manual methods will not be entertained. Applicants are advised to carefully review the eligibility criteria and complete their submissions through the official online system before the deadline.
In addition, authorities confirmed that no travel allowance (TA) or daily allowance (DA) will be provided to candidates appearing for tests or interviews. Applicants will be responsible for their own travel and related expenses.
